WIRING INSTRUCTIONS FOR 2-4 PAIR CABLES

IF 2-4 pair telephone cables will be installed, then use these instructions instead of the instructions in SECTION II pages 6 & 7 and DATA SHEET 03 page 17 from this manual.  It is recommended in the case of 2-4 pair cables being used that different color outer insulation be used to aid in installation.

A. See SECTION II STEP 2 page 5 for diagram to connect station wire to the power supply.

B.
Feed wire through the clamp located on the end of the top cover.

C. Strip the outer jacket off the wire about 6 inches.

D. Strip the insulation off each wire about 1 inch.  Be careful not to nick the wire
  when stripping.

E. Connect the following six wires from cable #2 to TB1 Pin 1 - +5VDC:

   WHITE with BLUE, WHITE with ORANGE
   GREEN with WHITE, WHITE with GREEN
   BROWN with WHITE, WHITE with BROWN

F. Connect the following six wires from Cable #1 to TB2 Pin 1 - GND:

   WHITE with BLUE, WHITE with ORANGE
   GREEN with WHITE, WHITE with GREEN
   BROWN with WHITE, WHITE with BROWN

Repeat steps B through F, changing steps E and F to the next available pin on TB1 & TB2, until all station wires are connected.

G. Connect all BLUE with WHITE wires from each station cable (cable #1) to
TB1 Pin 8 - DATA1.

H. Connect all ORANGE with WHITE wires from each station cable (cable #1) to
TB2 Pin 8 - STATUS1.

The BLUE with WHITE and ORANGE with WHITE wires from cable #2 are not used!!


NOTE:   
In large installations where there are two separate data paths
     TB1 Pin 7 - DATA2, and TB2 Pin 7 - STATUS2 are used for the
     second data path.  (See DATA SHEET 05, page 19)

I. Replace top cover of power supply.
