Those Blinking Lights - Kevin Moeller, Manager, Diana Castellanos, Hostess, and Don Lynch, Assistant Manager, use Tablecheck while greeting guests in Cafe Oasis.

Cafe Oasis has entered the space age. In March, Cafe Oasis started using an electronic seating system called Tablecheck. Tablecheck is designed to let the host staff know what tables are available without having to visually see each individual table. With a restaurant that seats more than 375 guests, this eliminates a lot of unnecessary walking.

Tablecheck consists of six electronic floorplan boards that are situated throughout the restaurant Each board has small lights that represent all of the tables in Oasis. The lights change various colors with the use of a magnetic pen. This depends on the condition of the table; whether clean, dirty or occupied.

The system is used by the host staff in the front of Oasis, as well as the servers and bussers in each station. This teamwork allows for much quicker seating of our guests. It has also helped to reduce the amount of time that guests have to wait in a line to be seated. We all know that during big conventions it is not uncommon to have lines that stretch all the way to the front doors of the hotel!

Most importantly, Tablecheck makes money. It has increased revenue through quicker table-turns and happier guests.

Tablecheck is just one more way that technology is helping us to provide good old-fashioned friendly, personal service to our customers.
