＜美術展概要＞
徳川家康の九男・義直（1600～50）によって創始された尾張徳川家は、名古屋城を居城とした大大名で、紀伊徳川家・水戸徳川家とともに御三家の一つに数えられていました。徳川美術館は、その尾張徳川家に伝えられた大名道具を有しており、その所蔵品は家康の遺品「駿府御分物」をはじめ、歴代当主や夫人たちの遺愛品など一万件余りにのぼります。
本展では、数ある名品の中から、甲冑や刀剣など武具のほか、茶道具や香道具、能道具、婚礼調度、書画などを通して、尾張徳川家の歴史と華やかな大名文化をご紹介します。
現存最古の源氏絵である国宝「源氏物語絵巻」と、三代将軍家光の長女千代姫が尾張徳川家に嫁ぐ際に持参した国宝「初音の調度」という、同館コレクションの精華というべき存在であり、日本を代表する名品も特別出品されます。
