Let's see if size really matters.Convivial’s bringing something new to the table — Magnum Showdown. A side-by-side tasting that looks at how bottle format shapes the way Champagne evolves, with each wine poured from both magnum and 750ml.
On 16 May, from 4PM to 7PM, we’ll be gathering around the table for an easy, focused session built around four Champagnes, each tasted across two formats. In Champagne, the second fermentation happens in each individual bottle, with the wine ageing on its lees over time. With magnums, that interaction tends to unfold more slowly — often bringing a different sense of balance, depth, and texture in the glass. It’s a subtle shift, but one that becomes clearer the more time you spend with it.
With just 20 seats at $188++ per guest, the session is kept intentionally small. Food will be available à la carte, and we’ll be open as usual after, for those who’d like to stay on.
