A new summer-exclusive menu item: “Kori-wan” (Ice Bowl). Created as a tribute to Nara’s over 1,300-year-old ice culture, this shaved ice was meticulously crafted by a sukiyaki restaurant.
Designed to deliver not just sweetness, but also richness, saltiness, and lingering flavors from its ingredients, it’s a dish meant to be enjoyed from the first bite to the very last.
You can choose between two varieties: Black and Gold.
[Black] Black sesame × black honey condensed milk × sake lees ice cream
This black-themed version offers a rich, complex flavor profile.
Layered on top are fragrant black sesame seeds and a special sauce made from black honey and condensed milk. Inside, there’s ice cream made using sake lees from Nara’s renowned “Kaze no Mori” sake, homemade mochi, black beans, and black olives.
Finishing touches include sprinkled salted black sesame, which balances the sweetness while enhancing the nutty aroma.
The ice is layered in two tiers, with additional sauce poured in between, ensuring consistent flavor throughout every bite.
Savor this sophisticated taste experience where black sesame, black honey, and sake lees combine to create a flavor far beyond mere sweetness.
[Gold] Golden sesame × roasted soybean flour × miratashi pudding
This gold-themed version offers delightful nuttiness alongside gentle sweetness.
Rich golden sesame and roasted soybean flour are topped with a uniquely bitter-sweet “miratashi” sauce made from caramel and sukiyaki broth.
