This festival, which is said to be the spirit and pride of Kyoto people, is a representative festival in Kyoto that takes place in early summer, where you can enjoy the ``Roadside Ceremony'' in which people dressed in Heian costumes parade for approximately 8 kilometers. In conjunction with the Aoi Festival, at the Heian Shrine Kaikan located within Heian Shrine, you can enjoy Japanese-Western eclectic cuisine with a modern twist on dishes related to the Saio era, the heroine of the Aoi Festival, while looking out at the scenic spot ``Shinen''.
