From September 1 to October 31, our limited-time Halloween Afternoon Tea Set captures the deepening beauty of autumn and the enchanting spirit of Halloween.
Alongside savory selections crafted with the chef’s playful creativity and appreciation for seasonal ingredients, the sweets also offer delightful Halloween-inspired surprises.

The chocolate tart, featuring blackberry ganache and blueberry accents, is topped with a striking “eyeball” chocolate for a memorable touch.
Its bright berry acidity is elegantly balanced with smooth white chocolate, creating a refined contrast of sweetness and tang.
Our pumpkin scone is served with maple syrup gently infused with the soft fragrance of osmanthus, offering a lingering autumnal aroma.

Christmas Afternoon Tea : A Festive Journey from Nara to Samarkand

A Christmas-themed afternoon tea celebrating the 5th anniversary of Nara and Samarkand as sister cities—two ancient capitals whose stories have been intertwined over the years.
This season’s afternoon tea, centered on the meeting of history and culture between Nara and Samarkand, features a delightful array of travel-inspired sweets: semi-dried apricots infused with saffron to evoke the bounty of the Silk Road; a velvety mousse combining pistachio richness with butterfly pea flower’s blue hue and mango’s sweet-tart flavor; and bonbon chocolates capturing the essence of Samarkand—the “City of Spices”—with notes of chai and deep cocoa.
Complemented by one sweet and four savory items blending Nara’s charm with exotic flair, this is a special winter-only afternoon tea that beautifully brings this world to life.

Kyuto no Shizuku

A Signature Cocktail Inspired by the Ancient Capitals

At our lounge bar, Flying Stag, we present a limited-time signature cocktail, “Kyuto no shizuku”, crafted in tribute to the ancient capitals of Asuka and Fujiwara. This commemorative cocktail captures the history, landscape, and cultural allure of Nara—home to newly recognized World Heritage treasures.

The base spirit features Mimuro Sugi, a renowned sake brewed by Imanishi Shuzo in Sakurai City, located near the Asuka–Fujiwara area newly inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its fresh fruit notes and elegant aroma express a distinctly Nara character.

To deepen the flavor, we blend plum and salt—ingredients recorded in the culinary traditions of Asuka-period nobility—along with honey produced in Nara Prefecture. A touch of Kikka gin, made with Nara’s oldest native citrus, adds a refined and layered finish.

Beneath the glass, you will find a playful presentation inspired by Fuhonsen, known as the world’s earliest minted coin. This charming detail invites you to experience the romance of Asuka, the birthplace of Japan’s ancient state.
