[Tokyo's Best Specialty Restaurant Week 2026] Edo Period Nigiri Sushi

Sushi Karaku, a renowned sushi restaurant in Ginza, will recreate the popular Edo period nigiri, or "rice ball-like nigiri," weighing approximately 50g per piece. While the rice is about three times the size of today, the delicious vinegared rice will have you munching away at it before you know it. Experience the evolution of sushi through the comparison with the delicate nigiri of today. They will also serve a glass of rosé wine, which pairs perfectly with the nigiri. Takeout is also available (Edo period nigiri only, reservation required), making it a wonderful and surprising souvenir.
