The Misaki-cho Salon, a garden hotel in Tokyo where you can enjoy learning about both old and new Japanese culture, is hosting its 10th installment of a new series where you can enjoy rakugo (traditional Japanese storytelling) and food together. Rakugo, which has been popular with ordinary people since the Edo period, has many stories related to food. Why not experience the rich food culture of Edo, as well as the lives and feelings of the people of that time, through rakugo? After enjoying the rakugo performance, you will be treated to a special meal inspired by rakugo, prepared by the Japanese restaurant Yukuri. Enjoy the evocative rakugo and the exquisite cuisine with all your senses.

≪Performer Profile≫
Katsura Bunjaku
Known as a "department store of material," he has a vast repertoire of stories.
While cherishing classical rakugo, he incorporates his own unique interpretations, and his storytelling style, which develops an old yet new worldview, has garnered widespread support.
1996: Became an apprentice to Shunputei Koasa
2000: Transferred to the school of Katsura Bunsho
2006: Received the Encouragement Award at the Kitatopia Young Rakugo Performer Championship
2009: Won the Young Rakugo Performer Competition
2010: Promoted to Shinuchi (master storyteller). Changed his name to "Katsura Bunshaku"
2015: Received the New Artist Award at the 70th Agency for Cultural Affairs Arts Festival
