【Tea ceremony at “Kōdai-ji Gesshin-in,” a normally closed temple】
Since its establishment over 400 years ago, Gesshin-in has never suffered any fires or disasters. Though periodic repairs have been carried out, it still retains its original appearance. The temple is usually closed to the public; however, from the main hall where the tea ceremony takes place and the lushly green garden, one can admire the Hōkan-ji Yasaka-no-Tō, better known as the Five-Story Pagoda.

*The tea ceremony is conducted while seated on tatami mats, but chairs are available upon request. Please let us know in advance if you require one.

The Hōkan-ji Five-Story Pagoda is just a short walk from Akagane Resort Kyoto Higashiyama 1925.

<Schedule>
17:15 – Check-in at Akagane Resort Kyoto Higashiyama 1925; then proceed to Kōdai-ji Gesshin-in
17:30 – Tea ceremony in the main hall (approx. 30 minutes)
18:15 – Return to Akagane Resort Kyoto Higashiyama 1925 for dinner
