Somoza Restaurant is a unique dining experience set in a restyled 150 year old Kominka (Traditional Japanese Farmhouse) in the Hanazono hills of Niseko. The Chef’s Set Menu is inspired by Hokkaido’s rich history and beautiful produce utilising incredible local ingredients and famous seafood.

The restored building includes a boutique featuring Japanese works of arts and crafts and the Somoza Gallery, a large, open gallery which houses Hokkaido Through The Ages, an impressive collection of artefacts from various cultures of people throughout Hokkaido’s history, from 10,000-year-old Jomon period pottery to recent indigenous Ainu works of art.

Adjacent to Somoza is Award Winning Shiguchi Villas, which are available for guests to stay on site and enjoy dining with us as well as spending some to pause and reconnect.

Course fee: ¥38,500 (tax included) per person

Reservations must be made 3 days in advance for dinner.
Please note reservations are not accepted on the same day.
Children under 11 years old are not allowed in the restaurant. . We do not offer any adjusted courses for children and will be seated as an adult.

Travel
The course meal will take approximately 2.5 hours from your first course.
If you wish to book a taxi for the return trip in advance please follow the above timings as a guide.

NOTE: We do not provide transport. We will assist where possible for return trips, however taxis and car services can be difficult to obtain in the Winter high season and may not be available for your desired time.

In order to provide a memorable experience, we ask for detailed information on all guests with allergies (including whether or not they can eat dashi or stocks and broths)
Please note that we require at least 72 hours to accommodate requests.

The dishes at our restaurant may contain a variety of different ingredients. If you have an allergy to any ingredient please assume it may be on our menu and to advise us as soon as possible.

Whilst we attempt to cater to certain dietary requests, it is also possible cross contamination may occur. We do not accommodate Vegan or Dairy Free requests.

◆Cancellation Policy◆
48 hours before the reservation: 50%; 24 hours before: 100%
If you are more than 15 minutes late from the reservation time without any form of contact, your reservation may be automatically canceled, so please be sure to contact us by phone for anything the same day.

30 minutes late with contact - loss of first course.
Every 15 minutes thereafter - loss of course of next corresponding course.
Cancellations and delays due to the inability to obtain a taxi are also subject to our House Policy.

Please contact us by email or phone at least 72 hours prior to your booking if you wish to make any major changes and as soon as possible for minor changes such as late arrival.
