The counter area is intended for guests aged 13 and above, who can order from the same menu as adults. Private rooms and table seating are open to guests of all ages.

We are pleased to host a one-night-only makers’ dinner featuring Zander Sorensen, founder of California’s boutique winery Xander Soren Wines.

Inspired by deep respect for Japanese cuisine, Xander Soren wines aim to complement delicate flavors and seasonal nuances, earning high acclaim from gourmets worldwide. On this special evening at Majiru, we will offer a unique course that blends the techniques and sensibilities of both teppanyaki and traditional Japanese cuisine. Executive Chef Asō and Japanese Cuisine Chef Takagi have crafted each dish exclusively for this occasion, which guests can enjoy paired with wines introduced personally by Zander Sorensen.

This is a one-of-a-kind gastronomic experience where the winemaker’s philosophy, the refined aesthetics nurtured by Japanese cuisine, and the lively atmosphere of teppanyaki come together in perfect harmony. We invite you to savor this unforgettable moment at Majiru—an experience available nowhere else.

【Xander Soren】
Xander Soren worked at Apple for 20 years alongside Steve Jobs on music-related projects such as the iPod and GarageBand. Drawing inspiration from his lifelong appreciation of Japanese culture, he founded Xander Soren Wines in 2012 with the vision of creating “California wines that complement Japanese cuisine.”
As winemaker, he enlisted Shalini Shaker, who was named Best Winemaker at the 2015 San Francisco International Wine Competition. Following the Burgundian philosophy, she produces wines in limited quantities. Crafted from carefully selected vineyards in Santa Rita Hills and Sonoma Coast, these wines possess a delicacy and depth that harmonize beautifully with seasonal Japanese ingredients.
