After graduating from the National Culinary School in Italy Yamamoto studied under French chef Roger Verge. When he was 28, he moved to Washington D.C to become the Chief Executive Chef of The Ritz Carlton. Yamamoto served for 3 US Presidents' inauguration dinners and returned to Japan to become the Chief Executive chef of Mandarin Oriental Tokyo. In 2010, Yamamoto opened Sesto Senso.
