TableCheck is a team of innovators delivering industry firsts. Starting with floor plans, we have built integrations with major POS providers, automatic referrals to sister venues, patented automated phone answering, automatic import from gourmet sites, and online card payments with global payment partners, continually creating value that didn't exist before.
Co-Founder & CEO
After working across sales, legal and corporate planning at CyberSource's Japan subsidiary, Yu helped launch new businesses at English OK (later renamed Pikumedia). He founded TableCheck in 2011 and became its CEO. Guided by the motto "delivering the best restaurant experience," he always puts himself in the client's shoes in pursuit of ease of use, and rather than settling for the status quo, keeps strengthening the systems that drive continual change.
Co-Founder & CTO
John graduated with honors in Electrical Engineering from Brown University. He then spent five years in equity algorithmic trading as a Vice President at Nomura Securities (formerly Lehman Brothers Japan). Wanting to revolutionize the restaurant industry with great software, and driven by a passion to "create new possibilities and make people's lives better," he became TableCheck's CTO in 2013. Rumored to be more handsome than Brad Pitt.
Executive Officer & Chief of Staff
After graduating from Kaisei High School and Rikkyo University, Kiyoshi joined MICROS-Fidelio Japan. He then became a sales manager at Ubitus Inc., an online gaming company with global operations, where he helped drive the company's growth. He joined TableCheck in 2015 as a senior salesperson and won adoption by Hilton, IHG ANA Hotels Group and other global hotel companies. He has been the ace of the sales team ever since.
Executive Officer & Head of the Operational Excellence and Administration Divisions
Hiroto graduated in Natural Sciences from International Christian University. He joined General Electric (GE) as a new graduate and completed leadership programs in finance and internal audit across eight countries, including at its US headquarters. Back in Japan, he served as Country Manager of a GE subsidiary and as APAC CFO. He went on to hold senior roles in business strategy, as COO and as a director at several companies, including adidas and OYO. He joined TableCheck in 2024, aiming to deliver innovative services built on the belief that "the best dining experiences make people happy."
Deputy Head of Administration Division
Keio University graduate, Bond University MBA, certified Social Insurance and Labor Consultant, and USCPA. At Otsuka Pharmaceutical and Otsuka Holdings, Takashi worked as a medical representative and in HR, marketing, accounting and finance, and served as a director and auditor of subsidiaries. He then oversaw the entire administration function at Mimaki USA Inc. in Georgia, USA, before joining TableCheck in 2023. A devoted wine lover who drinks wine every single day of the year.
Head of Sales
Masashi began his career on the restaurant floor, where as a store manager he worked on operational improvements and team management. He then led Groupon Japan's sales organization from launch through expansion, and went on to build and grow sales teams at startups in marketing SaaS, fintech and delivery. He joined TableCheck in 2025. Under the vision of "bringing the best dining experiences to people around the world," he leads a sales strategy that blends technology and hospitality, driving digital transformation in the Japanese market and maximizing value for customers.
Head of IPO Preparation
Junichi worked on systems, operational efficiency and risk management in a bank's markets division, then managed assets at its New York office. From 2000 he led the IPO of a web security startup, and after its 2003 listing on TSE Mothers he headed IR and FP&A. From 2007 he launched new businesses and supported portfolio companies in principal investment, and from 2016 built the FP&A function at a startup developing 3D interior simulation software. He joined TableCheck in 2018.
Head of Legal
Naohide graduated from Nara High School and Kobe University, gaining sales experience at an advertising magazine in Sydney while still a student. After university he handled legal affairs and credit screening at an independent trading company. Then, as head of legal at the travel platform VELTRA, he helped take the company to IPO, overseeing risk management, compliance, the secretariat for shareholders' and board meetings, workplace culture initiatives and project planning. Drawn to TableCheck's vision of "connecting restaurants and guests around the world to deliver the best dining experiences," he joined in 2024. His hobbies are food, travel and running.
Head of Accounting
A Certified Public Accountant, Naoto graduated from Senshu University and began his career at PwC. After working in accounting consulting, he joined Otsuka Pharmaceutical as an accounting specialist, where he took part in Otsuka Holdings' listing project, worked on an overseas posting, and led the team as head of accounting. He specializes in building strong financial foundations with a global perspective. Believing in the value creation behind a company's numbers, he joined TableCheck in 2025, drawn deeply to its vision.
Head of Engineering
Alexander leads TableCheck's global engineering organization and its company-wide AI strategy, overseeing platform infrastructure, security and machine learning systems. He joined TableCheck as a Site Reliability Engineer, where he was named Rookie of the Year, and has since led the building and scaling of the teams and cloud-native architecture behind the company's growth. Before TableCheck, he gained broad experience across defense technology, SaaS and machine learning research in Australia, the US and the UK. He holds a Computer Science degree, majoring in Cyber Security, from the University of Wollongong.
Head of Growth & Marketing
After building her marketing foundation in the cosmetics industry, Ai led the Japan launch of new businesses and customer experience initiatives at global technology companies. Her philosophy is to bring products and services she can wholeheartedly recommend to customers, with the closeness and sincerity she would offer family and friends, and she has driven work spanning brand building, business growth and organizational development. She joined TableCheck in spring 2026 and is passionate about expanding the possibilities of Japan's world-renowned food culture. On her days off, she is a devoted dog lover who treasures time with her dog above all else.
Global Head of Commercial
As TableCheck's Global Head of Commercial, Preetika leads revenue growth and market expansion across Asia (excluding Japan) and the Middle East. Her career of more than 15 years spans banking and foodtech, and she specializes in scaling organizations, navigating complex markets and turning untapped opportunities into sustainable growth. She is passionate about building high-performance cultures and deeply understanding what restaurants actually need. Outside work, you will find her training at the gym or exploring trekking routes in the Himalayas.
