Only high-quality beef that meets stricter screening standards than Tajima beef produced in Hyogo Prefecture is certified as Kobe beef, and its excellent, fine-grained texture is recognized worldwide. Matsusaka beef is one of the three major brands of beef, and is made from Japanese black cows, heifers, fattened in Mie Prefecture, and is characterized by its deep, elegant aroma and beautiful marbling.
