Our aim at Gatemo Tabum is to provide our guests with high-quality and delicious dishes that resemble "Taste of Bhutanese Home Cooking".
Bhutanese cuisine is very simple and the taste depends greatly on the ingredients. As the recipes differ family by family, there is no correct or incorrect way of cooking Bhutanese traditional meals. However, there are still several basic principles that make Bhutanese cuisine what it is. We have recipes at Gatemo Tabum that meet these criteria. These recipes are from one of the Gatemo Tabum founders who is known as "mother of Bhutan in Japan". In 2022, i.e. 16 years after the opening of Gatemo Tabum, we decided to return back to the basic recipes from the time the restaurant was opened, to review all the processes and to select the safest and most suitable ingredients for basic Bhutanese cuisine. The look and the atmosphere of the restaurant and the taste of the food have changed. Some customers might be surprised by these changes. However, we will continue to make improvements and to provide the best basic Bhutanese cuisine that is both delicious and unique at Gatemo Tabum.

Regular closing days: Monday & every other Tuesday

The reservation is possible only for dinner.

Cancellation policy
▶ Please note that it is possible that we might not be able to meet your request in respect to the seat position (counter or table).
▶If you would like to make a reservation for 7 or more people, please make directly a telephone call to the restaurant at least 1 week in advance.
▶If you are late about more than 15 minutes and you do not inform us about the delay, we might cancel your reservation. Therefore, please let us know if you will be delayed.
▶ If you decide to cancel the reservation, please let us know not later than 1 day in advance.
▶Please note that due to the current situation at the restaurant the stay here might be limited to 2.5 hours.
