Welcome to izon: Translating the World through Spice Gastronomy

izon is a restaurant that explores global history and culture through the lens of spices, reconstructing them utilizing the terroir of Kyoto.

Rooted in French culinary techniques and fond (broth) drawn from the renowned water of Nashinoki Shrine, we offer an intellectual dining experience.

【LUNCH】The Deep Dive
A short course that focuses on a single country each season, delving deeply into its cultural context.
Until May 3rd, the theme is Denmark and the melting ice of Greenland.
From May 7th onwards, we will draw a "constellation" of dishes inspired by Tunisia in North Africa.
(Estimated time: Approx. 60 to 90 minutes *Varies by course)

*A lunch-exclusive beverage pairing (2 glasses) is also available.


【DINNER】The Anthology
"The entire map of the world revealed in the silence of the night."
Limited to 6 seats per day. A 10-course full menu not bound to a specific country, but rather re-editing past journeys and current explorations.
Here, we deliver the continuation of the "incomplete map" drawn during lunch.

Lunch Reservations
Lunch begins simultaneously for up to 4 guests per time slot at 11:30, 12:30, and 13:30.
Please note that if you arrive late, we may be unable to serve your meal.

Allergies and Dietary Restrictions
If you have any food allergies, please be sure to provide details at the time of booking.
*We may not be able to accommodate requests made on the day of your visit.

Seating
Due to the architectural nature of our 100-year-old machiya (traditional townhouse), we cannot accept specific seating requests.
We hope you enjoy this as part of the authentic atmosphere of our historic space.

Group Bookings and Private Dining
The maximum number of guests for online reservations is 4 for lunch and 6 for dinner.
For larger groups or private dining inquiries, please contact us directly by phone.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellations or changes in the number of guests will incur the following cancellation fees:
- Day before: 50%
- Day of reservation: 100%
*If you are more than 15 minutes late without prior notice, your reservation may be automatically cancelled.
